      尊敬的各位领导，各位来宾，女士们、先生们及中外新闻社的同仁们，大家晚上好！我代表菲律宾使馆预祝今天的活动取得圆满成功！
      Distinguished leaders, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, and the colleagues of Home and Abroad News Press, good evening everybody! Firstly, on behalf of the Philippine embassy, I wish today's event a great success!

      今天晚上对大家来说是一个美好的夜晚。今天我非常荣幸的能够站在这里领到“2014年时代新闻人物”的奖项。作为菲律宾驻华大使，我感觉身上的责任非常的重大。在推动中、菲两国友好关系的发展，我会和我的团队一起不遗余力的努力。菲律宾与中国的关系，对菲律宾来说是非常重要的双边关系。所以我非常感谢中国政府及中国的企业、协会对菲律宾的支持。在菲律宾也有很多人为中、菲两国之间的关系的成长和推动作出了重要贡献。所以我觉得今天晚上的这个奖项不仅仅是给我个人的荣誉，而是代表着中、菲两国之间的互相信任，以及两国人民不断友好往来的见证。在获得“2014年时代新闻人物”这个奖项之后，我会继续推动两国之间关系的发展，不遗余力的让两国之间的关系能健康、和平的迈向新的高度。
      This evening is a beautiful night for all of us. Today, I am very honored to be able to stand here and receive "2014 the News Person of the Year" award. As the Philippine Ambassador to China, I feel the great responsibilities on my shoulders. Myself and my team will make all possible efforts to promote the development of friendly relations between China and the Philippines. To Philippines, the bilateral relationship with China is very important. I am very grateful to the Chinese government and Chinese companies, associations to support Philippines in many ways. Also in the Philippines, there are a lot of people making great efforts and contributions to grow and promote relations between the two countries. So tonight, I think this award is not only a personal honor for me, but also a high recognition to all people who share the mutual trust and friendly interaction between Philippines and China. After receiving this special award, I will continue to promote the relations between the two countries and spare no effort to make the bilateral relationship towards new heights.

      我在长达45年的外交从政生涯中，虽然获得了很多奖项，但是今天这个奖项我非常珍惜，这是对中、菲两国之间关系的认可，以及中、菲两国人民互相尊重、友好的见证。这个奖项也是给菲律宾使馆的员工、同仁，他们也是为两国之间友好往来作出贡献的人，对他们也是很高的认可。对我个人而言，这个奖项是对我工作的肯定，也是对我未来工作的期待和向往。在此我向大家表示我由衷的感谢，希望大家能够跟我们一起分享这个美好的夜晚。
      In my 45-year diplomatic career in politics, although I received many awards, I specially cherish this award tonight because it is the recognition for Philippines and China's relationship as well as the mutual respect and friendship between the people of the two countries. I will also dedicate this award to my colleagues in the Philippine Embassy, they also made remarkable contributions to develop the friendly exchanges between the two countries, they also should be highly recognized. To me personally, this award is recognition of my hardworking, but also I will take it as the encouragement for me to do a much better job in the future. Hence, I would like to express my sincere thanks to all of you, and I wish you all enjoy this lovely evening together.
