The journalist then asked another question: "If you said the relationship between China and Iran is very good, why China joint the group action against Iran on the nuclear issues in the UN meetings?" Mrs. Wei seemed very calm and answered: "on June 9th, the UN Security Council passed the Resolution #1929 with 12 votes to agree, 2 votes to against and 1 abstention. 109 days after this resolution, Chinese Politburo Standing Committee Chairman Mr. Li Changchun led a delegation visit Iran and met with Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. He passed the warm greetings from President Xi Jinping to President Ahmadinejad and Iran people. Both sides signed many cooperation agreements in various sectors. Next year, we will be celebrating for the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Iran. In the next 5 years, the bilateral trading between the two countries will reach $100 billion USD level. Many major projects will possibly increase that figure to $200 billion USD level. Many people and countries believe that China and Iran’s friendship is profound, solid and everlasting. This partnership will pass all kinds of challenges and trials."
